Borivoj Jovanovic „Boris“ (Bora Mercedes)
Borivoj Jovanovic wurde am 01.03.1966 in Stara Pazova in einer kleinen Stadt in der Nähe von Novi Sad geboren und ist in einer typischen Roma-Familie aufgewachsen. Er hatte eine schwere Kindheit, hat aber sehr viel Liebe erhalten.
Das gesangliche Talent hat Bora von seiner Mutter Vidosava, die trotz dieser schweren Zeiten eine fröhliche Mutter war, die gerne gesungen hat. Dies hat Bora von ihr übernommen.
Sie hat oft alte Roma-Lieder bei familiären Veranstaltungen gesungen, die Borivoj in Erinnerung geblieben sind.
Mit dieser Emotionen und der festen Entscheidung, dass er Sänger werden will, begann er mit 14. Jahren an verschiedenen Wettbewerben für Amateure teilzunehmen, auf denen er immer 1. Plätze gewann. Im Jahre 1982 hat er den 1. Platz für die beste Stimme Serbiens erhalten. Nebenbei hat er die technische Schule abgeschlossen.
Wegen schlechter Verhältnisse in Serbien entschloss er sich 1987 nach Wien zu gehen, wo er heute lebt.
In der Zeit von 1997 bis 1993 war er gezwungen sich anderen Arbeiten zu widmen, obwohl seine einzige Leidenschaft die die Musik ist. 1993 nahm er wieder an einem Wettbewerb für die beste Stimme in Wien teil und eroberte wieder den ersten Platz. Der Preis war: ein Album aufzunehmen. Bis jetzt hat er viele Lieder produziert auf die er sehr stolz ist. Die Aufnahme beim „Radio-Televizor-Novi-Sad“, die er mit dem sinfonischen Orchester unter der Führung von Resada Jajiha aufgenommen hat, freut ihn am meisten und er ist darauf stolz, dass er es soweit gebracht hat.
In dieser Aufnahme werden viele Romalieder, die von ihm selbst geschrieben sind, gesungen. Verzweifelt und enttäuscht von den Leuten, die seine Arbeiten für verschiedenste Zwecke missbrauchten, zog er sich aus der Musikwelt zurück. Bora widmet sich wieder seiner alten Arbeit als Taxifahrer, die ihm als kommunikativen und geschäftlichen Mann freut und die finanzielle Lebensbasis bietet.
2007 kam der lange erwartet Tag, den er sich schon so lange gewünscht hat.
Er gründete mit seinem Cousin Milos, seinem Neffen Branko und dem berühmtem Jazz-Bassisten Martin die Gruppe „FUNDO“. Als Mitglied von „FUNDO“, Sänger und Textschreiber gestalteter die ersten CD´s der Gruppe mit.
Borivoj Jovanovic was born on 1 March 1966 in Stara Pazova near a small city of Novi a Sad. Borivoj grew up in a typical Romanies family. He had a difficult childhood, but with much love. The vocal talent has Bora from his mother Vidosava, although, there were difficult times, she was a cheerful mother and wife who was very interested in rhythm and song. She often sung old Romanies songs at family events, which Borivoj still remembers. With these emotions and influences and the great decision to become a singer, he began to singing at 14 years in various amateur competitions where he always took first place. In 1982 he was awarded the famous first place price for the best voice in Serbia. At the same time he also completed technical school. He was not able to fully realize and use his great talent however because his father did not support, his efforts at school nor in his music career. As a result of the adverse conditions he left Serbia 1987 and has lived in Vienna ever since. Between '87 and '93 he was forced to do other work, though music remained his only passion. In 1993 he entered a competition for the best voice of Vienna and took first place. The prize was the possibility to record an album. He has meanwhile produced a great many songs, that he is very proud of. His recording for "Radio Televizor Novi Sad", made in co-operation with the symphonic orchestra under the guidance of Resada Jajiha, is his personal favorite, and he is proud to have come this far. The recording features many old Romanies songs, as well as songs written by him. However his music was misused by many people for other purposes, and so disappointed he left the music business. He returned to his old job as a taxi driver, as a very communicative and hardworking person, he enjoys the job and is very successful. In 2007 the long awaited day finally arrived. Together with his cousin Milos, his nephew Branko and the famous jazz bassist Martin Zeitelberger he founded the group “FUNDO”. As a member of the group, singer as well as lyricst, his great support for the group led to their first CD.
Borivoj Jovanovic je rodjen 01.03.1966.godine u Staroj Pazovi,maloj varosi nadomak Novog Sada.
Rodjen je u tipicno romskoj porodici.Imao je tesko detinjstvo,ali puno ljubavi.
Pevacki dar Bora je nasledio od svoje majke Vidosave,koja je uprkos nemastini i siromastvu bila vesela i raspevana majka,supruga i snaja.Ona je cesto na nagovor svog muza ili svekra pevala u cast rodbini,prijateljima i putnicima-dobronamernicima stare Romske pesme,koje su ostale Borivoju u dragom secanju,i ostavile neizbrisiv trag za sobom.
Sa tom emocijom i velikom odlucnoscu Bora u svojoj 14.godini pocinje da peva na takmicenjima pevaca amatera,gde uvek osvaja prva mesta a uporedo sa tim zavrsava Tehnicku skolu u Staroj Pazovi.
1982.godine Borivoj je proglasen prvim glasom Srbije.Ali sve to nije mogao da realizuje i upotrebi na pravi nacin jer nije imao potrebnu podrsku od svog oca koji nije imao razumevanja ni za Borino pevanje ni za skolovanje.
Iduci "trbuhom za kruhom"put ga 1987.godine dovodi u Bec,gde je do danas ostao.U periodu od '87. do '93.godine bio je prinudjen da radi mnoge druge poslove,ali za svo to vreme muzika je bila i ostala njegova jedina ljubav.
1993.godine Borivoj odlazi na takmicenje za prvi glas Beca,i osvaja prvo mesto.Tada je dobio i nagradu da snimi svoju prvu plocu.
Do sada je snimio puno pesama,ali ono na sta je izuzetno ponosan je trajni snimak koji je uradio za Radio Televiziju Novi Sad sa simfonijskim orkestrom pod upravom gospodina Resada Jajiha.Tu su prepevane stare Romske pesme ali i nekoliko pesama koje je Bora napisao.
Obeshrabren i razocaran u ljude koji su njegov rad prisvojili i zloupotrebili Borivoj 2000.godine prestaje da peva i posvecuje se voznji taxija,sto mu kao komunikativnom i snalazljivom coveku jako dobro ide.
Ali 2006.godine konacno je dosao i taj ,za njega,dugo ocekivani trenutak kada pocinje da radi sa svojom bracom Milosem i Brankom.Uz saradnju sa Martinom,austrijskim dzez basistom,osnivaju grupu FUNDO.

Branko Jovanovic „Bako“
Branko Jovanovic wurde am 30.04.1988 in Wien geboren. Niemand dachte, dass er einmal ein erfolgreicher Musiker werden würde.
Sein Talent wurde erst im Jahre 2000 entdeckt. Damals sind seine Onkel Milos Jovanovic und Dragan Jovanovic „Sanjika“ nach Wien gekommen.
So fing er an seine ersten musikalischen Schritte in die große geheime Musikwelt der Roma zu machen. Jung, einzigartig in seiner Interpretation und bereits mit seinem eigenem Stil und Erfahrungen in verschiedenen Musikrichtungen, ist er sozusagen ein Virtuose auf der Mandoline „Tambura“. Branko hat hohe musikalischen Qualitäten, die auch der größte Musikkritiker bestätigen kann. Er besitzt ein einzigartiges Talent, das ihn zum besten Interpreter auf seinem Instrument ehrt. Dies beweisen viele seine 1. Plätze bei den verschiedensten Wettbewerben.
Kaum 20 Jahre, bekam Bako schon den 1. Platz für den besten Solisten junger Orchester. Durch diese Auszeichnungen wird der junge Musiker noch ehrgeiziger und entwickelt sein Talent stetig weiter, in dem er auch die berühmte Musikschule in Eisenstadt besucht. Mit großer Unterstützung und viel Verständnis seiner Eltern, hat Bako viel Zeit um sich auf seine Musik zu konzentrieren und damit noch besser zu werden. Nach vielen gemeinsamen Auftritten, so wie Proben, haben sich Bako, Bora, Mica und Martin Zeitelberger entschieden die Gruppe „FUNDO“ zu gründen.
Branko Jovanovic was born on 30th April 1988 in Vienna. At the beginning nobody would have thought that he once will become such a successful musician. His talent showed up in the year 2000. At that time his uncles Milos Jovanovic and Dragan Jovanovic "Sanjika" came to Vienna. So he made his first musical steps in the powerful and mystifying secrets of music. His interpretations of different music directions are special, young and unique. He is a virtuoso on the mandoline "Tambura". Each music critic confirms his outstanding talent and performances. He won a lot of first places at different competitions. Before the age of 20 he already achieved the 1. place for the best soloists of young orchestras.
Motivated by these honours the young musician became still more ambitious and developed his talent constantly. He attended the famous school of music in Eisenstadt. Also his parents supported him to concentrate on his musical career. After many performances together with Bora, Mica and Martin Zeitelberger they decided to found the group "FUNDO”.

U pocetku nista nije govorilo da ce Bako biti muzicar.Njegov talenat je isplivao na povrsinu 2000. godine kada u Bec dolaze njegova dva strica MIlos Jovanovic i Dragan Jovanovic Sanjika.Tada pravi prve muzicke korake,i odkriva i savladava mnoge tajne muzickog sveta.
Mlad,jedinstven u interpretaciji,perspektivan,sa specificnim stilom u izvodjenu razlicitih muzickih melodija,moze se reci virtuoz na tamburi.
Bako poseduje muzicke kvalitete koje ne bi osporili ni najveci muzicki kriticari.
Posudeje jedinstven raspored sto ga danas cini najboljim interpretatorom na svom instrumentu.To dokazuju i mnogobrojne nagrade koje je Bako osvojijo sa nepunih 20 godina,Sa samo 19 godina Bako dobija nagradu za najboljeg solistu malih orkestara.To mu daje podstreka da se usavrsava i jos vise razvije svoj talenat,i uz sve to Branko pohadja muzisku skolu u Eisenstadtu.
Rodbinski povezani i sa velikim medjusobnim razumevanjem,i mnogim danima provedenim u vezbanju i zajednickim nastupima Bako i njegovi stricevi Milos i Boris sa Martinom osnivaju grupu FUNDO.

Milos Jovanovic „Mica“
Milos Jovanovic wurde am 31.07.1980 in Zemun, in der Nähe von Belgrad geboren.
Er ist Mitbegründer der Gruppe „FUNDO“ und einer neuen Musikrichtung in der Roma-Musik. Da Milos im Umkreis von alten Roma-Melodien und balkanischer Musik aufgewachsen ist, erkannt er, dass sich aus verschiedenen Musikrichtungen eine neue Roma-Weltmusik entwickeln kann. Milos hat mit seinen Kompositionen diesen Weg begonnen, und steht am Beginn dieser Entwicklung.
Schon im jungen Alter von 13 Jahren hat er in verschiedensten Lokalen gespielt.
Seitdem hat er mit vielen Musikern der Volksmusik, sowie „moderne“ Musik gespielt. Neben seinem Erfolg in der Musikbranche, hat er auch seine Kaufmännische Schule in Serbien abgeschlossen.
Da er in einer Roma-Familie mit starker musikalischer Tradition aufgewachsen ist, hatte er die Möglichkeit Musiker zu werden und sich in die Technik der Musik weiterzuentwickeln. In der Gruppe FUNDO hat er die Funktion des Rhythmusgittaristen. Vor der Gründung dieser Gruppe hat er bei verschiedenen musikalischen sowie filmischen Veranstaltungen, bei Konzerten und in einigen Nacht-Klubs gespielt. Milos hat mit vielen berühmten Sängern. Die Zusammenarbeit mit dem serbischen Filmregisseur Emir Kosturica in „Makroj Gori“ ist in schönster Erinnerung geblieben. Er persönlich hat noch nie Preise und Plätze erobert, jedoch findet er, dass er seinen Erfolg in der Musik mit dem Applaus von Publikum am besten messen kann.
Milos Jovanovic was born on 31st July1980 in Zemun, (near) not far away from Belgrade. He is a member of “FUNDO" and one of the inventors of a special and completely new style of Romanies music. Milos grew up with the traditional Romanies melodies and Balkan music. Soon he recognized that the combination of those traditional styles of music could create a complete new kind of music.
The outcome of this were some simple and nice sounding melodies.
At early age of 13 years he started to perform in Pubs and Clubs. Since these times he has played together with a lot of folk musicians, but also with representatives of modern music, so he always was and is a kind of crossover musician. He finished a commercial education but nevertheless he was focused on music and developed his own style of music. He played at different musical events, concerts and night clubs.
Among all these co operations the teamwork with the famous Serbian film director Emir Kosturica (Makroj Gori) is remarkable.
In 2006 he founded the group “FUNDO” together with Borislav, Branko and the famous Austrian jazz bassist Martin Zeitelberger.
For him prizes and honours are not so important than the applause of his audience.
Nedaleko od Beograda,u Zemunu 31.07.1980 godine rodjen je Milos Jovanovic,clan grupe FUNDO i pokretac novog muzickog pravca u romskoj muzici.Posto je rastao uz stre romske melodije i balkansku muziku,video je ogromne mogucnosti kombinovanja razlicitih muzickih stilova.Napravivsi po sopstvenom nahodjenju mix nekoliko stilova,napravio je muziku koja je vrlo prijatna za slusanje.
Milos je poceo da svira gitaru u kafani u svojoj trinaestoj godini.Od tada je svirao sa mnogim muzicarima,kako narodne tako i zabavne muzike,ali je i pored uspeha u muzici zavrsavao i Ekonomsku skolu.o ga je ucinilo kompletnim muzicarem,i omogucilo mu da stvara sopstveni stil muziciranja.
Posto je rodjen u romskoj porodici sa jako muzikalnom tradicijom,to mu je dalo preduslove da i sam postane muzicar,i da se razvija i napreduje u tehnici sviranja.
Godinee 2006. osniva sa Borisom,Bakom i Martinom,poznatim austriskim dzez basistom,grupu FUNDO.
Pre osnivanja ove grupe nastupao je na mnogim muzickim i filskim svecanostima,na festivalima,i po nocnim klubovima.Radio je sa poznatim pevacima i umetnicima ali mu je od svega u najlepsem secanju ostalo gostovanje kod naseg proslavljenog filmskog reditelja Emira Kusurice na planini Mecavnik,na Mokroj Gori.
on nikada licno nije tezio nagradama,ali mu je najveca satisfakcija i najbolje merilo uvek bio aplauz publike na nastupima.

Tambura (Basszprim)
Die Tambura ist ein Zupfinstrument. Sie ist mit vier, sechs oder acht, selten auch zwei Metallsaiten bespannt, meist ist nur die A-Seite paarweise angeordnet.
Die Tambura hat einen schmalen, langen Hals, der mit Bünden versehen ist. Der Abstand der Bünde verkleinert sich vom Wirbelkasten zum Klangkörper des Instruments. Der Klangkörper der Tambura ist eher flach bis bauchig, oval und manchmal mit einer schönen Holzeinlage verziert. Die Haltung beim Spielen der Tambura entspricht der Haltung beim Spielen einer Gitarre. Mit der Gitarre ist die Tambura jedoch nur weitläufig verwandt. Die nächsten Verwandten der Tambura sind die italienische Mandoline, die russische Balalaika, Tamburica, Bouzouki, Šargija und Bağlama usw. Dies, was die Tambura so einzigartig und faszinierend macht ist ihr Klang: A, E, H, Fis (la, mi, si, fa).
In verschiedensten Aufzeichnungen vom N. Nikolaja im Jahre 1551, wird die Tambura erwähnt.
Bekannte Hersteller der Tambura sind: Bocan Lajos, Kudljik Bela, Stevan Beli.
Eine der besten Tambura vom bekanntesten Instrumentenbauer „Stevana Belog“ ist im Besitz vom jungen Musiker Branko Jovanovic „Bako“.

The tambura is a plucking instrument. It is equipped with four, six or eight, including two rare metal strings, which are always in pairs.
The Tambura has a narrow, long neck, with fretted over it, the distance between frets shrink from the box to the vertebral body sound of the instrument. The sound body of Tambura is rather flat bellied up, and sometimes oval with a beautiful wood inlay decorated. The attitude to play the Tambura is the attitude to play a guitar.
The guitar is similar with the Tambura. Simular to the tambura is, the Italian mandolin, the Russian balalaika, tamburica, bouzouki, Šargija and Bağlama etc.
What was the Tambura make so unique and fascinating is its sound: A, E, H, F (la, mi, si, fa).
In many texts of N. Nikolaja from 1551, the tambura is mentioned.
Known producer of Tambura are: Lajos Bocan, Kudljik Bela, Stevan Beli.
One of the best Tambura from the best-known producer, "Stevana Belog" is owned by the young musicians Branko Jovanovic "Bako”.
TAMBURA je zicani muzicki etno instrument.Slicanje vrsti narodnih instrumenata drugih naroda,kao sto su:buzuki,gitara,sas,mandolina,balalajka i mnogi drugi.
Tambura se spominje jos davne 1551.godine u memoarima putopisca N.Nikolaja.Ona se sastoji od tri glavna dela,a to su:trup,vrat i glava,i pomocnih delova:kobilice,pragova i klinova odnosno civija za zatezanje zica.To sto tamburu cini spcificnom je njen stim A,E,H,Fis(la,mi,si,fa) i njen nesvakidasnji i prijatan zvuk.
Kao sto svi instrumenti imaju svoje poznate graditelje,tako i tambura izdvaja imena svojih graditelja,a to su:Stevan Beli,Bocan Lajos,Kudljik Bela i mnogi drugi.
